The Irish Dancers

By Savannah S.

The Irish Dancers wowed the crowd of staff and fellow classmates.

They performed many dances created by the Irish. This performance happened on March 17th, 2011. They performed beautiful dance numbers on the stage. It happened to be St. Patrick's Day. Everyone got in the spirit by wearing festive clothing. For example, they wore leggings, hats, face paint and so much more! Happy St. Patty's Day! So long!!!

The Fun Run

By Peter Gonzalez

In Holmes School the Fun Run is always a big event. Mr. Williams prepares kids for their “final fitness exam.” For 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders they have to run one whole lap around park (half a mile). After that the 4th and 5th grade racers have to run 2 laps around the park (1 mile). Then the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders have to run 3 laps around the park (a mile and a half). After last years amazing outcome of over 200 students from Holmes, Mr. Williams wants 300 kids to come. So let’s get those permission slips. Mr. Williams generously buys trophies for kids from Holmes that finish in all places from 1st to 20th. So let’s go out on May 4th and have some fun in this year Fun Run.

The Blackhawks

By Peter Gonzalez

After the Stanly Cup win last year the Blackhawks had to trade star players such as Antti Niemi, Kris Versteeg, Dustin Byfuglien, and others. Although the Blackhawks lost those amazing players they are still in the playoff spot. But with the second best player on the team, Patrick Sharp, out. They will need to have an extra push to get a good spot in the playoffs. With Patrick Kane scoring his 100th goal and Marty Turco letting nothing by, the Blackhawks have a good chance to get a good spot in the playoffs. And who knows maybe they can get back-to-back Stanly Cup wins.
