Exciting Offseason

By Abe Zuraw

This year has been a great offseason and many teams have been making exciting trades. First off the Sox are in a playoff position with a bullpen staring the young Criss Sale. Others are returning for the 2012 season among them are Matt Thorton Paul Konerko, and A.J Pierzinzki. The Cubs are also in a playoff position with a new manager a fresh start and new players like former Rays star Carlos Pena and more returning players including Carlos Marmol and Carlos Zambrano.

The Yankees will continue their long-standing tradition of keeping stars until the end. So Derek Jeter who is better suited to a retirement home than a baseball field will be hobbling on to the diamond this year as well. It looks like many teams are going for the championship and for now just hang on and see who spends the most money!

A new way to exercise

Kinect : A Fun Way to Exercise

By Andrew B.

What the Kinect does is that it looks at you with a camera and when you play a game that includes the kinect it senses your motions and does it on the game!!! For an example in Sonic Free Ride, you can hop on and off your gravity board. Reach out your hands to get coins. In Kinect Joy Ride, you control your car with your body and beat other racers to get to the top of the leader board.

Xbox 360 with Kinect is new fun way to exercise at a low price of $299.99. You can wait a couple weeks and the price may go down. If you already have an Xbox360 you can just get the kinect at GameStop for $250. It comes with three games. Get Kinect today and you can become the controller!!!

Health Over the Weekend

By Savannah S.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. I would just like to take a minute of your time to talk about your health.

You know a lot of kids just sit inside and glue their eyes to the T.V. Well that doesn’t help you get in shape. And if you are out of shape and come back to Mr. Williams, you might not be able to do things you did before. That won’t be good! That is why you should eat healthy food and exercise everyday.

When you sit down by the T.V. playing video games, let’s face it, that’s not healthy either. So that's why you should get up and play. Remember.......... BE HEALTHY!!!!!!!!!!!

The Super Bowl

By Peter Gonzalez

What a great game! The drama, the suspense, it was all worth it. The Pittsburg Steelers came into the game with the intention that they were going to win their 8th Super Bowl . But the Packers had other plans. Aaron Rogers was a rookie to the playoffs but that didn’t stop him from going into the game with great confidence. Although he had a lot of confidence, he still had to ask an old friend, Brett Favre, how to roll with the punches. On the other hand Ben Roethlisberger was going into the game with his 3rd Super Bowl appearance. He is only the third quarterback to do that in history.

Now lets get to the game. In the first quarter the Packers came out with two touchdowns and immediately put the pressure on Pittsburg. But in the second quarter Pittsburg scores an early field goal. But that put the Packers down because they came back two drives later and scored a touchdown. Down 21-3 the Steelers come back and scored a touchdown at the end of the half. So that makes it 21-10 after two quarters of exciting football. After the players took the field the only points scored was a touchdown by the Steelers. In the final quarter the Packers wanted to shut the game down. So they came out and scored a touchdown in the first 3 minutes. But the Steelers wanted that trophy and wouldn’t give up. They came right back and scored a touchdown. But in the end it was the Packers who prevailed. With a late field goal and a 6 point lead. The Packers won the Super Bowl and took the trophy home. With a grand total of 12 national championship wins and 3 Super Bowl wins.
